Do you just use it outside of your normal sleeping bag?
I’m looking at a surplus one to use for camping and backpacking.
Also, how comfortable are these, in your experience?
Also, does one need to dig a small hole to lie it in so it’s not possible to roll around?
I guess what I’m wondering is if it’s possible to roll around and move the whole bag with you while you sleep. Kind of a dumb thought, but I had to think it.

After getting the caldera keg system, I knew that the Combination of Trail Design caldera with Titanium Goats input would be perfect cooking system. They match the caldera cone to just about any cooking vessel. I opted for the .9 liter stove to go with caldera, for boiling close to one liter nalgene at a time instead of multiple boil from a smaller titanium cup.The complete system includes the, 12-10 stove, Ti-Tri titanium cone, fuel bottle, measuring cup, titanium stakes for wood burning mode, the GramCracker solid fuel kit and our brand new Caldera Caddy. For an additional $15, you can get the titanium “floor” to protect the the ground during wood burning mode. please visit www.traildesigns.com www.titaniumgoat.com

This is an ultra extreme light weight and compact sleep shelter system. What makes this system so extremely light weight and compact is that a person does not need a sleeping bag, pad or blankets to be able to sleep fairly comfortable in a dry warm environment.

Here is the full kit that i normally take out with me into the bush part one.

This is my deep cold sleeping system. Coldest I have slept in is -44C and it was no problem. Its routine every winter to spend several nights per winter below -30C and its zero anxiety since the system has proven itself. My buddies use a 2-bag system which is also good if you size them right for maintaining loft. Very important is to use an “oversized” bivy so as not to compress loft, and to allow air to move. Not shown is my head gear which is a loose fitting open face fleece balaclava, loose fleece toque (loose to prevent itchy head), and an ear band around my neck that I can raise over my cold nose if need be, and still breathe without a clammy fabric over my face. I sleep in my day base layer and socks, no need to change, and its easy to get dressed in the morning. I wear my fleece day sweater beyond -10C.

I cover my sleep system in small detail in this video. I describe the sleeping bag I use and everything else to go with it. I also carry 6 lightweight aluminum tent stakes and enough paracord to rig up my tarp, even though I did not mention it. People have different environments; it is important to carry what you need.
