I live in Iowa and camp in the winter summer spring and fall, i just use a cheap -40 sleeping bag for all year.

I am considering upgrading to the MSS because of its functionality and the way it is actually 3 bags in one

so what do you think? Are they woth the $250 or just stick it out with the $40 one that ive had for years?
its not a bad bag but i need something for those mountain trips and long stay backpacking extravaganzias

Since the Brunton Restore was able to power the iPad, it only stood to reason that the Brunton Freedom could too. This makes a very rugged little expansion battery for your iPad! The Brunton Freedom offers a 1A USB port, which is as powerful as most laptop ports, but not to the 2.1A iPad charger spec. However, we saw the iPad to light-up with the iconic Apple ‘chirp’ indicating that the iPad was indeed recognizing the power source. The iPad is happy to draw power from the Freedom, but it will not charge from it. Even when the iPad is turned off completely. The Freedom adds approximately another 30% to your iPad battery. The smaller solar panel can directly offset approx 30 minutes of iPad use per summer day. Remember… your power comes directly from sunlight! And remember, if the weather, or time of year, is not charging your Freedom quickly enough, simply plug it into your PC, MacBook, or any other USB port to fill ‘er up. This is a field test/review of the Big Agnes Hogan Park Sleeping Bag System. I choose to call it a system as it is designed to integrate an inflatable sleeping pad, such as my Thermarest into the design. The weight savings due to adding no fill to the bottom of the bag makes sense here, allowing the bag to offer superb temperature ratings while keeping both weight and bulk down. This oversized bag is perfect for the larger person or anyone that feels too constricted by a mummy style bag. A great feature is the ability to roll inside the bag vs with it, keeping the sleeper on the sleeping pad throughout the night.

The Copernican System was my entry (and the winner) in the secondary schools’ category of the 2008 Eureka Prizes Sleek Geeks filmmaking competition. I made it in about a month during the Term 1 school holidays in 2008. This is my first proper brickfilm since the good ol’ LEGO Studios days (shudder), and I’m quite pleased with how it turned out. I know that the narration is a bit fast and all, but I had a lot of info to communicate in a short space of time, and I trimmed the narration down as much as I could. The movie was filmed at 15fps with StopMotionPro 4, and the computer-generated clips and special effects were done using After Effects CS3. Thanks to those who helped with the process of making and submitting the film, namely Mr Peter Cogo, the Callant family and the Vasic family! (And of course my family.)

EXTREME SURVIVAL KNIFE SYSTEM

After getting the caldera keg system, I knew that the Combination of Trail Design caldera with Titanium Goats input would be perfect cooking system. They match the caldera cone to just about any cooking vessel. I opted for the .9 liter stove to go with caldera, for boiling close to one liter nalgene at a time instead of multiple boil from a smaller titanium cup.The complete system includes the, 12-10 stove, Ti-Tri titanium cone, fuel bottle, measuring cup, titanium stakes for wood burning mode, the GramCracker solid fuel kit and our brand new Caldera Caddy. For an additional $15, you can get the titanium “floor” to protect the the ground during wood burning mode.

tried a suggetion from a user, to use the cozy while it was burning to help insulate the can exposed top, it worked but at the sacrifice of melting the lower portion of the cozy a bit, and only decreased boil time by seconds. Not worth it in my opinion, but trial and error. Hope this helps.
