First ten things to have in a bob survival bag, rucksack etc. see note at bottom of information. A GUN (really no.1) 1. WATER in a cannister that is at least partially transparent.(Because water can get infected with bacteria and go like jelly and if you have prepared water properly and put it in your bag ready to go, you might need to check on its condition before leaving the house. And drinking the water is not the best way to test it if it has gone off.) 2. BRANDY 3. SARIN WRAP for emergency – burns victims 4. SHARP KNIFE eg a sharp fruit knife or multitool with tin opener 5. PAGES FROM THE PSALMS 6. A cup 7. A BOX of MATCHES in a plastic bag 8 .A TORCH 9. A KETTLE either electric or the other type. You can plug into the electricity of a building when nobody is about. END OF TEN THINGS HOWEVER….. (if you don’t have the right to a gun then the supplementary top ten thing is 10. EITHER An UMBRELLA, PLASTIC MAC, or WATERPROOF PONCHO) EDITED update A sleeping mat is very important. So is a good sleeping bag. I did not include them as they would be packed outside the bug out bag. Please see my video of Feb 15 2011. There are ways to make affordable mats. Also packing enough empty, clean crisp bags and plenty of duct tape will give you an emergency blanket.
