I’m going on holiday for a long weekends kayak and camp up the River Dart this weekend.

One thing I’m worried about is our gear getting soaked from (and I’m praying it won’t happen) a capsize. Now obviously anything can happen, so I want to be prepared in case it does.

We’ll have a couple of tents, hiking rucksacks and food, which I’ll be towing in a spare kayak behind me.

I’d prefer it if there was an actual waterproof product specifically designed for such an event rather than trying to use bin-liners or carrier bags.

What do you do when you go kayaking and camping?

Anything you can suggest?

Thanks, as always,

Pan

Im moving to Fort Walton beach florida, Northwest Florida. And I want to find a camping spot. Heres what Im thinking. Someplace where we would be secluded, and basically no one would be around. I love the naturalistic/ rustic camping think where its traditional gear. Iron pot and you go kill your dinner and basically live off the land and what not. (Im a hunter so I know how to do all that) Anyway, I want to go out live off the land. Like I think it would be sick to go out on a beach somewhere and fish for dinner and get crab traps and stuff. I think that would be alot of fun. But again I would like it to be secluded and what not. Like where you pack up and hike to your spot. Any ideas where I could do that in Northwest florida? Or a website that could help me?

Also, where could I find gear like I like? Where its like a canvas tent and old school stuff. Im really into the rustic things. Also, would there be any spots that I can hunt for dinner and all? Like maybe fish, trap stuff? Any thoughts on what I should do? Are there any websites that are about old school camping and all?

I’m having trouble fully understanding the rule. I’m 15 and like bad with math so could you explain and maybe suggest what I can bring for the 3 week camping trip? Like can I bring Pantene for Colored women (shampoo and conditioner) and a tube of toothpaste?
Thanks!
Also how much would everything be if I have a hiking pack and a suitcase. Can I put some of my gear in the hiking pack? And can I take the sleeping bag with me as a carry on?
Also, can I bring my medicine cream for eczema?

We are planning on getting rid of a lot of stuff from our one bedroom apartment but still have a lot of things to take with us–bed, two/three dressers, maybe love seat, tv (flatscreen) and stand, and camping gear would probably be our biggest. Any suggestions?

Hey, for yeas the Angels have this black stuff all over their batting helmets. Looks like pine tar or something. But why is it there and what is it? Why isn’t it just a “clean” helmet like most other teams?

im going to denver this winter and ive never been there before. im a only 15, so please dont recommend any clubs or anything. i love to ski too and cant figure out where the best place to ski is. my aunt told me that snowmass, aspen mountain, and butter milk were the best she skiied at. but i looked online and ive found so many really nice places to ski at. ski cooper, winter park, breckenridge, vail, monarch mountain, copper mountain, and steam boat. i really didnt realize how many of these places there are to ski at. and i really need help deciding cause i cant make up my mind. i want to go to 2 different places to ski while im there, and then a few places just to sightsee, take some tours, and do out door activities. which places are best for skiing and which are best for out door activities. just because i love to be in and around the snow and i could probably spend all day looking at the views. i love nature, especially mountains. and yes, ive asked this question way too many times, but i like to have something to do and researching for my trip is a lot of fun to me. ive seen pictures for all of these places and im they look fantastic! the views, the snow, everything…. i just cant decide what is better. what gets the most snow, has the best skiing, and the best views. if you dont mind, please list what has what? like for example: snowmass-best snow-not best skiing-more outdoor activities… that was just an example, but something like that please

thanx in advance….. btw, my dad said we could go anywhere and the price really isnt an issue when it comes to prices of ski gear rental, lift tickets, etc.
