We are both unemployed and would love to still get out of town for a week-end. I’m not very interested in going into the heat during the summer or sharing my tent/sleeping bag with any critters but if we could find something free, maybe I would find a way to deal!!!
What smaller cities (maybe metropolitan area populations under a million people) and towns in the southern states have vibrant, well preserved historic commercial areas…im kinda thinking of something like eureka springs

streets like that, with unbroken strips of 19th century buildings, that have been preserved and not allowed to rot.
We’re looking for a semi-private car camping spot (no amenities needed) somewhere near Ajo, AZ (maybe near Cabeza Prieta or Oregon Pipe). Cool geology a plus. We have plenty of water and gear, but don’t know the area very well.

I’m looking to take a 2 or 3 day trip with the girlfriend and was looking to find a camping area that’s good for pitching a tent during January. I live in Orange County and was hoping to not go too far north. I’d say Santa Barbara and below. I hear Joshua Tree would probably be too cold at night. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.
southern pine snake for sale
i want to go tent camping near water so i can fish. but in a wooded area that allows camp fires. also i’d like a place where the campsites are not too close together. i live in carbondale but i dont think that i want to go to crab orchard. unless someone can tell me something really good about it.
thanks
