I’d like to plan a camping trip for my family but have never had the joy of going to the colorado river. can someone help with details like best locations, gear, weather, etc.

I am in the process of planing out a massive camping trip to the ocean from Nebraska. I will take the Platte river to the Missouri to the Mississippi to the ocean! I have saved up money over the winter and I am in the process of buying camping gear. I am not sure if I should use a kayak or canoe and any advice would be helpful. I have worked at my dead end low paying job long enough, and desperately need to break away and have my own adventure! Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

If the tent gets wet over night from rain or dew, should you pack it and bring it out immediately when you arrive at next camp site or should you wait for it to dry? Is there a way to limit the dampness from condensation/dew? Any helpful information is greatly appreciated.
