1.Each player shall furnish his own equipment for play — normally one club and two balls.
2.Play on a course must be approved by the owner of the hole.
3.Unlike outdoor golf, the object is to get the club in the hole and keep the balls out of the hole.
4.For most effective play, the club should have a firm shaft. Course owners are permitted to check shaft stiffness before play begins.
5.Course owners reserve the right to restrict the length of the club to avoid damage to the hole.
6.The object of the game is to take as many strokes as necessary until the course owner is satisfied that the play is complete. Failure to do so may result in being denied permission to play the course again.
7.It is considered bad form to begin playing the hole immediately upon arrival at the course. The experienced player will normally take time to admire the entire course, with special attention to well formed bunkers.
8.Players are cautioned not to mention other courses they have play on or are currently playing to the owner of the course being played. Upset course owners have been known to damage a player’s equipment for this reason.
9.Players are encouraged to have proper rain gear along, just in case.
10.Players should assure themselves that their match has been properly scheduled, particularly when a new course is being played on for the first time. Previous players have been known to become irate if they discover someone else playing what they consider to be a private course.
11.Players should not assume a course is in shape for play at all times. Some players may be embarrassed if they find the course to be temporarily under repair. Players are advised to be extremely tactful in this situation. More advanced players will find alternate means of play when this is the case.
12.Players are advised to obtain the course owner’s permission before attempting to play the back nine.
13.Slow play is encouraged; however, players should be prepared to proceed at a quicker pace, at least temporarily, at the course owner’s request.
14.It is considered outstanding performance, time permitting, to play the same hole several times in one match.
15.The course owner will be the sole judge of who is the best player.
oPlayers are advised to think twice before considering membership at a given course. Additional assessments may be levied by the course owner and the rules are subject to change. For this reason, many players prefer to continue to play several different courses.
I don’t see why because:
Progression is slow until 80 (or 85 soon to be). Mostly because of all of the zones that no one plays anymore, although, this may be fixed in cata. But, my theory is it will just put a few more quests in and new land features to hopefully encourage new players.
Raiding is a joke for a casual player who cannot spend an allotted amount of time every day. A casual player, if he or she is distracted by someone else, a call, or even a sandwhich needing them, they may as well wipe the raid if they play a role. And 2 hours a day may not even be enough to get anything done considering how long it takes to get a PUG ready. And with a guild, by the time you get past entry level raids, you’d be running more time than you have.
There are simply not enough rewards to the massive grind. 85 levels now? That’s simply too much considering how outland and northrend will practically be dead and mostly ignored. That’s approximately 20 whole levels that are spent either in dungeons that give out gear that will be replaced in a day, or quests that are so old and overdone that no one wants to do them. I do like how Blizzard redid Azeroth, hopefully bringing more new players in, but they seem to just lower the xp for BC content and most likely will for Wrath content also.
Next, what in the world do they plan to do with all this old content? It practically is useless data on your computer because no one except achievement hungry, level capped players will run them! All of these old raids are empty and have no lasting use. A few old world raids are left now, all the BC raids are still there designed for 70’s, and Wrath raids will stick around for a long while too.
Lastly, the PVP is horribly unbalanced. First off, Most battlegroups have this win/loss record: Horde ALWAYS wins arathi, mostly wsg, and 50/50 eots. Alliance mostly wins AV and any other reinforcement tower capture based bg. As for low level pvp, twinks are a thing of the past, but low level boa geared, experienced players now dominate. Just look at a level 19 boa hunter steamroll the opposing team, even at level 12! And worst of all, world pvp is completely dead. No one does any old world, bc, or even some wrath outdoor pvp besides wintergrasp.
Last but not least, it just gets old too fast. Not enough happening besides spamming trade chat during down time.
