THEY LOOK LIKE LITTLE MAGGOTS BUT THEY AREN’T…I THINK. AFTER IT RAINED IT GOT WORSE. THEY DON’T HAVE THE LITTLE BLACK HEADS AND THEY ARE WAY SMALL. ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT KIND OF INSECT THEY COULD BE? P.S. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS, MY BUTTON IS STUCK.

I have a 4 month old WHITE Pomeranian that thought our Christmas tree was her mortal enemy…At least the argument started after we took it down and put it outside

There is not a whole lot in her fur but since she is white it shows up REALLY well. I take her with me a lot of places and want her spotless when we are out and about. Is there anything that will take it out? Or since she is blowing her baby coat should I just suck it up and let it come out with the baby fur.

I have only had black Poms in the past so dealing with white fur is new to me. Well she is mostly white and has a little really really light apricot color on her head and back. She is white parti colored with merle factored in.
I have kids……I go a lot of places where dogs are allowed and besides…..THAT wasn’t the question was about. Would you rather have me tie her to a tree and ignore her??? My animals are my children. She is also my familiar, so her place is with me every moment possible.

What is Pitch Pine?

In the passage im reading, which speaks about a steamboat, it states “great volumes of the blackest smoke are rolling and tumbling out of the chimneys- a husbanded grandeur created with a bit of pitch pine just before arriving at a town.”

Also, why is the grandeur called “husbanded” is it because it produces a comic effect or does is it because it matches well with the ideals of the crew and townspeople?

I am ripping up carpet in a room in my house. It is an old refurbished farmhouse and has the original wood flooring (probably oak) under the carpet. However, there is this “black stuff” that is all over the wood. I think it is adhesive from linoleum that was once there. Does anyone know a good way to get this stuff off so I can refinish the wood underneath??

I just keep getting an american site that won’t ship across borders.I seen it on CTV news and am very anious to own one of the oldest plants on the planet that servived 17 ice ages and was growing about 500,million years ago along with the dinasaurs.Cool eh. They are`a little pricey but can be propagated by cuttingsThere are less than a 100 tres in a remote place in austrailia. The object is to save this tree from extinction and increase the numbers. It’s a very unusual looking tree kind of like a huge tropical fern, the bark looks like burn’t black rice crispys. Please help as I have been doing new landscaping and I would love to take care on one of these precious trees.I also got a big thing for trees. Thanks for any help and mother’s day is getting close,I have agreed to find it,the kids have agreed to buy it.(maybe 150.00.My next favourite is a Deadora pine. Thanks again all you plant lovers for helping someone who lives in a very remote area.!!!

I really need help. For over a year I’ve lived in a place where pine trees like to drip sap onto my precious Mustang, and it’s driving me crazy! A lot of it is really old and dried onto the windows and hood of the car and I have a large black racing stripe decal on the front, so I can’t use any razor blades or anything like that to help lightly scrape it off.

Things I’ve tried already to no avail: WD40 (kind of worked on the windows but can’t use on the paint), Turtle Light (and Heavy) Rubbing Compound (didn’t work at all), and mayonnaise (someone suggested it as a home remedy but it hasn’t worked at all for me).

I read somewhere that Goo Gone might help but I need some opinions. I really need something I can just buff with a cloth and some elbow grease, that won’t remove any paint.

Help, please?

I recently purchased bunk beds for my kids from wal-mart. They are called honey pine wooden bunk beds. Im looking to stain them a rich dark contemporary color and Im wondering what steps I should take. I know that the wood has already been finished and that pine is suppose to be a very delicate wood to stain so that’s why i ask what steps should i take from beginning to end? What stain is better oil based or water based and what shade should i get to get the furniture to be the darkest color it can get ( i want the color to be close a black color)? Or should I just paint the furniture with spray paint. If so what are the steps to do that from begginig to end and should i really do it with spray paint or just regular paint and a brush. Help me please Im looking to get my kids into their beds pretty soon.
THANKS!!!

My husband and I own a twin home with about 50-60 tall pine trees in back. Last summer we noticed that 10-15 trees had died and my husband cut them down. Now this year we had to take down 18 more. My dad said that he thinks it is some kind of pine beetle. When we cut this bunch down we inspected them. The bark is gone on most of the tree. There are little holes into the trunk and engraved trails around the outside. But when my husband cut them down he noticed that all of them had large amounts of ants in them. These ants have black or dark brown heads and rears and then red middles. (we live in Minnesota) Could that be what is killing our trees, or are they just using the tree after the beetles leave? We haven’t found any kind of beetle. Let me know what you think, and if there is anything we can do. The remaining trees have really flaky bark. Could it be that they are just dying of age, and then the ants are taking over? Also, the trees only have needles way at the top of the tree. All branches below are bare. Any help would be much appreciated! Sorry about the novel!

My dog is itchy & flakey! He is a black lab shepherd mix, about 50 lbs. He is aprox. 2 1/2 years old. He has frontline on him. I’ve also been giving him the proper dosage of benedryl to help him but I feel bad about giving him medicine all the time. I changed his diet to lamb & rice because of his itching. He is still itching — it’s been about a month since I switched his food. I have some Grandpa’s Wonder Pine Tar shampoo & I was wondering if I could use it on my dog.

The ingredients are: water, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium chloride, pinus palustris (pine) tar oil, cocamide DEA, di (hydrogenated) tallow phthalic acid amide, polymethoxy bicyclic oxazolidine, fragrance.

I’m looking for a more natural way to soothe his itchy skin and was wondering if this shampoo would be good for him. Thank You.

Here’s the situation: I am working on my table which is pine to the best of my knowledge. I have stripped all areas and it is nicely sanded and has a natural bare wood look. You can see a nice wood grain look!

Problem is today I tried some samples from Sherwin Williams on the underside. Here’s where it gets tricky. The grain that normally looks darker after sanded is coming out as the lighter grain after we stain it. And the lighter grain prior to staining is coming out darker . Its as if the grain has traded roles after staining. I don’t like this because being reversed the color is too dominant.

Picture a tiger….before staining the table represents a tigers pattern. Dominantly orange with black stripes. After staining the table looks as if the tiger is dominantly black with orange stripes.

I am using a darker stain. When we tried a very light stain the roles did not reverse.

Table: Currently sanded 150 grit and not conditioned. We tried various brands of stain.

Why is the stain causing the roles of the grain to reverse and how can I stain it dark without this happening?

After reading I realize its recommended to condition the wood but I still don’t have an answer if the condition will prevent this reversing problem.

Any help will be highly appreciated. What was supposed to be the fun part is becoming the hard part!

Thanks
B~
