The North Carolina State University is represented in NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision competition by the NC State Wolfpack football team. Currently, The Wolfpac is the founding member of the Atlantic Coast Conference where they also compete. Carter-Finley Stadium is their home game since 1966. And currently they are headed by Tom O’Brien, who happens to be the previously head coach at Boston College from 1996 to 2006. Wolfpack was a member of the Southern Conference in the year 1953 before they joined the ACC. The team’s opponent in ACC are the Wake Forest Demon Deacons , North Carolina Tar Heels, and East Carolina Pirates and all schools that are located in North Carolina. Since they became a member, they already won seven conference championships and took part in 23 bowls which twelve of them they won. Important Moments and Accomplishments In ACC, they had won 7 championships. Those were in the years 1957, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1968, 1973 and 1979. They had also won once in the Southern Conference Championships in the year 1927. Moreover, they won thrice in South Atlantic Intercollegiate Championships in the years 1907, 1910, 1913. North Carolina State Wolfpack College Football Recent News In a renewal of the rivalry that dates back in the year 1924, Wolfpack and Blue Devils meets at Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, N. C on Saturday at 3:30 p. m. The Wolfpack players would only want to end the four-game losing streak that flickers their interest. However, their coach Tom O?Brien is not familiar with the rivalry and had faced the Blue Devils only once in a dozen years. With a record of 10 straight victorious games over the Blue Devils, the Wolfpack were off last week and in the 34 days prior to the contest, they will play just two games. They indeed need the time to slowly receive the preseason?s injured players. Their time off were also spent in trying to mingle with other players and making an effort to spend more time together. Moreover, the time was allotted in order for them to improve their defense after the Maryland game which ranked them last in the defense league. The lineup was also changed during the off week with defensive end Willie Young and linebacker Audie Cole returning to the starting lineup and cornerbacks DeAndre Morgan and Koyal George still fighting for one of the starting cornerback starting jobs. Nonetheless, their coach had seen a significant improvement in the team?s last three games. In the final period, they had a combined final margin of 19 points. Furthermore the coach emphasized that since there are some guys whose careers are about to end it is imperative that they would have a good game now. Since they have four more games left, the team is aiming to have the bowl eligible. But before they could aim for the fourth one, they are making sure to win the first one. This season is really something to look forward for. Will they win the bowl this year? Buy their ticket and see for yourself?
