Just recently we found little (size of a pink fingernail) bugs in the house. They jump and fly. When on a hard surface they crawl. These bugs are yellow and black with a hard body and soft wings that extend beyond the body. It almost looks like a mix between a beetle and fly. I have no idea what it is and couldn’t find a picture anywhere on the internet. I haven’t been able to take a picture but these bugs are annoying. They land on people and are very fast. Until it was over 90 degrees I had never seen one, even in previous years. We live in an area with pine, maple, and oak trees. I don’t have flowers around and generally my doors and windows are kept shut. Please help me identify these bugs because I think they bite! Thanks in advance!
No, it does not look anything like a hornet or bee. It is tiny and when I smashed it the body crunched. It did have soft hind wings that were clear though.
