To complete this How-To you will need: Pillows Blankets or a sleeping bag Cooler Camp stove Voltage converter Access to restrooms Places to park overnight Hot-water bottle Step 1: Furnish your car Furnish your car with blankets (at least one made of wool, for warmth); a couple of pillows; a cooler; a camp stove; and a voltage converter so you can power appliances with your cigarette lighter. Tip: Consider removing the passenger and rear seats for more room. Step 2: Know where to park at night Know where you can park at night. Trucker areas off the interstate are usually safe, as are hospital parking lots. Wal-Mart allows RV’s and cars to park in their lots overnight. Tip: Never park near a school. Someone is sure to call the authorities. Step 3: Find restrooms Shopping malls, supermarkets, and hospitals are good places to wash up. For a shower, go to a truck stop and ask around for a shower coupon; truckers usually have more than they need and are happy to give some away. Bruce Springsteen released his 11th studio album in 1995, a year after I graduated highschool. It was an amazing record. It had such a sincere feel to it. It reminded me of his Nebraska record. Honestly though I kind of like Ghost a little more than Nebraska, but it’s hard to argue with Nebraska because it really sets a standard for doing an acoustic record. Anyways this is the title track from The Ghost of Tom Joad. I’m doing some Boss songs lately. Ghost of Tom Joad Lyrics: Men walkin’ ‘long the railroad tracks Goin’ someplace there’s no goin’ back Highway patrol choppers comin’ up over the ridge Hot soup on a campfire under the bridge Shelter line stretchin’ round the corner Welcome to the new world order Families sleepin’ in their cars in the southwest No home no job no peace no rest The highway is alive tonight But nobody’s kiddin’ nobody about where it goes I’m sittin’ down here in the campfire light Searchin’ for the ghost of Tom Joad He pulls prayer book out of his sleeping bag Preacher lights up a butt and takes a drag Waitin’ for when the last shall be first and the first shall be last In a cardboard box ‘neath the underpass Got a one-way ticket to the promised land You got a hole in your belly and gun in your hand Sleeping on a pillow of solid rock Bathin’ in the city aqueduct The highway is alive tonight But where it’s headed everybody knows I’m sittin’ down here in the campfire light Waitin’ on the ghost of Tom Joad Now Tom said “Mom, wherever there’s a cop …

Entry from: Milan, Italy Entry Title: “Sleeping Rough in Northern Italy” Entry: “Compared to the trip from Munich to Interlaken it was surprisingly easy to travel from Switzerland to Milan. And Italy was warm. It was the first real hot weather I had experienced on my so called Summer trip. My hostel was an awful Hostelling International prison that was really uncomfortable and had all these extra unnecessary rules. They’re always ****, but this place was the cheapest in Milan and I never learn. After checking in, I spent the rest of the day walking around central Milan seeing the Duomo and the Piazza. The problem I had with Milan is that it really isn’t much of a tourist town. Even Da Vinci’s Last Supper had a two week waiting list which i found ridiculous, and ultimately frustrating. I wonder what Da Vinci would think? Between all of my trips in Northern Italy I probably spent a total of five days in Milan, and shamefully that was more time than I had spent anywhere else on this trip. The problem was that I should have booked my flight to Copenhagen a couple of days earlier. I had based myself in Milan as a jumping off point for several places in Northern Italy. The first was Parco Nazionale Delle Cinque Terre. The Cinque Terre are five colourful town that sit on cliffs overlooking the …
Los Angeles, CA LAPD officers received a radio call of an abandoned vehicle parked in front of the RPs house. We arrived and noticed what appeared to be a body in a sleeping bag. It could have been dead, it could have been alive. However after banging on the cars windows multiple times the body did not respond. Therefore we requested a tow truck to assist us. The tow truck lifted the vehicle up and down a couple times. Ah the man was alive. He had been faking a deep sleep. Had he been honest with us we would have never towed his car. Listen to his response at the end when I told him that. Frankly I dont blame him for not trusting us. Listen to what this law professor says about talking to the police. But in this case, talking and cooperating with the police would have been a win win situation. More LAPD Video Footage here. hi-caliber.blogspot.com
