Maybe even scotland? I want to go camping often but i dont like the holiday style where you camp tent by tent. I want to go in fields and Forrest’s. is this illegal?

we really want to go camping i love it specially in the winter time but we just can’t find a good, and cheap place most are only for Rv’s 
tent camping, specifically. and california would be best, since i live there. i’ve been to mcgrath and faria, but i want more!
